After meeting Nigel and Stuart of Springfield Poultry, I realised that their love and concern for the welfare of their birds were top priority as well as it is ours. They have been in this business from small boys as it was previously their fathers business and they are very keen to uphold their beliefs and quality service, therefore all our chicken and chicken cuts come from Springfield Farm in Leominster, as are, of course, our Turkey's, Geese and Capon's at Christmas time.
We deal in free range Welsh and Staffordshire lamb.
Right the way throughout the Spring lamb season it is Welsh, as we believe you can't beat it's flavour and tenderness.
We only ever order our lambs to be 16-18 kilo's at the most to ensure the perfect size for joint's, chops and meat to fat ratio that works best for the customer.
The pigs that produce Blythburgh Free Range Pork are born outside and spend their entire lives outdoors in the fresh air, with freedom to roam in large paddocks, rooting around in our sandy Suffolk soil and playing with their peers.
By growing at a much slower, more natural rate, Blythburgh Free Range Pork acquires a traditional flavour and succulence that has been largely forgotten in today's mass produced pork.
Only the finest free range beef comes through our doors. All our beef is matured for a minimum of 28 days from braising steak to the very finest fillet steak. We deal in Angus beef to Charlois beef.
Whenever a farmer has any other breeds we are willing to try, such as Longhorn. All our beef is locally sourced from Hereford and done as close to home as Cannock.
All our game is wild and is sourced from various game lodges across the midlands.
Sausage and Bacon
All our sausage is made by Lashfords using only the finest cuts of pork, which in turn have made these sausages famous and award winning. There is approximately 15 varieties from best pork, Cumberland, pork, leek and apple, pork and chilli, pork and black pudding, gloucester, the list is endless. The range expands to beef and lamb sausages too!
All our bacon is dry cured and traditionally oak smoked, we provide all types of bacon from streaky to middle cut to the finest short back.
We stick a range of cold meats including our in house rare- roast hipbone beef joint, selection of boiled hams, selection of salamis, Palma ham, pancetta and chorizo. Award winning lattice top pork pies from the black country and traditional black pudding in natural skins.
A small range of cheese, but never the less a range of mature, extra mature and creamy Stilton are available.
We supply a range of jams, chutneys, pickles, herbs and spices, stuffings and cooking sauces from Minters whom established in 1960 and are still run by the same family.
From Tickerbridge Farm, Leominster hand picked by myself from Peters small family run farm, again ensuring only the finest quality. We are renowned for double yolkers - come in and try your luck in our pick your own area.
We offer unbelievable value due to being hand picked at £1.50/half dozen.
All our produce is free range and locally sourced.
